Scott is a former Emmy and Murrow-winning news anchor who left the local news game in 2018 after 23 years to launch Scott Walker Consulting, which later morphed into Scott Walker Media.

Scott’s Social Media Boot Camp, which focuses on the correct ways to use social media, is extremely popular among elementary schools, high schools, colleges, college athletes, professional athletes and businesses. Scott believes in reaching students in middle school, when they’re first exposed to social media, to help them avoid the many pitfalls they encounter at that difficult age and beyond. Scott’s Social Media Boot Camp has been presented more than 200 times in the past several years, with audiences ranging from middle-schoolers to professional athletes.
Before stepping into SWM, Scott was recognized numerous times over the years for his work in broadcast journalism. In 2016, Scott was honored with a regional Emmy award for the 30-minute documentary, “Steve Gleason: The Journey.” It chronicled Gleason’s journey from football star to ALS diagnosis to the premiere of his feature-length film at the Sundance Film Festival. Also in 2016, Scott was named ‘Best Local News Anchor’ by Gambit and ‘Best TV Talent’ by the Press Club of New Orleans. In 2015 and 2016, Scott won a regional Emmy award, regional Edward R. Murrow award, National Headliner award and Gabriel award for his first round of stories chronicling Gleason’s battle with ALS. In 2014, Scott was named one of Gambit’s ’40 Under 40.’ Scott was named ‘Best News Anchor’ by the Press Club of New Orleans in 2012 and 2013 and earned first place honors from the Press Club and Gambit Weekly for his social media presence in 2012, ’13, ’14 and ’15.
Scott has had a front row seat for numerous big events, including the Saints magical run to the Super Bowl XLIV championship in Miami and the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. During WDSU’s extensive oil spill coverage, Scott made local and national headlines after his confrontation with private security guards trying to limit media access on Grand Isle beach.
Prior to arriving at WDSU, Scott worked at TV stations in Orlando, Mobile, Gulfport/Biloxi, Jackson and Hattiesburg.
Born and raised in Metairie, Scott attended St. Angela Merici, Brother Martin High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. He graduated in 1997 and was named the Outstanding Senior in Broadcast Journalism.
